CM Tamang unveils poster for Sikkim State Badminton Championship, extends support to inter-school event

The Chief Minister expressed his delight at launching the championship poster and praised the organisers for promoting badminton among the youth of Sikkim.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Juy 19 launched the official poster for the Late Kuldeep Gurung Sikkim State Sub-Junior and Junior Ranking Badminton Championship 2025. The event, organised by the Badminton Association of Sikkim in collaboration with the Young Shuttlers of Sikkim, will take place from July 26 to 28 at the Indoor Badminton Hall, Paljor Stadium, in Gangtok.

The poster was unveiled at the Chief Minister’s official residence in the presence of Shri Jacob Khaling, President of the Badminton Association of Sikkim, along with other executive members of the association. The Chief Minister expressed his delight at launching the championship poster and praised the organisers for promoting badminton among the youth of Sikkim.

“This championship is a great platform for our young athletes to display their talent and learn the values of discipline, hard work, and sportsmanship,” said CM Tamang. He added that such events help to shape the sporting culture in the state and bring unity and purpose among the younger generation.

In addition to the badminton championship, the Chief Minister also extended his support to the 1st Sikkim State Inter-School Championship 2025, the finals of which will be held on August 11 and 12, after the conclusion of district-level rounds. The event is aimed at encouraging inter-school sports participation and enhancing physical education at the grassroots level.

CM Tamang conveyed his best wishes to all the young players preparing for both championships. “May these events inspire excellence, sportsmanship, and unity among the youth of Sikkim,” he said.
