Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Saturday inaugurated the Sita Ram Vatika and the Mamring Viewpoint in the Namthang-Rateypani constituency, calling the two sites valuable additions to the state’s tourism landscape.
Speaking at the event, Tamang said the newly developed spots are not just for recreation but also carry economic potential for the local community. “These two sites hold potential as tourist destinations, offering both locals and visitors a place to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty along this route. For those seeking a bit of adventure, horse riding is also available,” he said.
The Chief Minister highlighted how tourism-oriented projects like these can contribute to sustainable growth. He pointed out that such initiatives create local jobs, from guiding visitors to providing services, while also encouraging small businesses around the sites. “Beyond their recreational appeal, these developments have also generated local employment opportunities, which is a commendable step towards sustainable community growth,” Tamang added.
The Sita Ram Vatika is designed as a serene spot where families can unwind, while the Mamring Viewpoint offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Together, they add to Sikkim’s growing list of attractions that blend natural beauty with cultural and leisure elements.
