The Sikkim government exchequer gets an additional revenue source of Rs 6 to 7 crore annually as Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang today inaugurated the 2×1.5 MW Chatten Hydro Electric Project Mangan, District. The project was abandoned and halted in 2008 and after the restructuring of the SPDCL and 2019 its revival work began and within four years of span it was completed after nearly 16 years of halt. It was revived with the additional cost of Rs 15 crore.

The project is being developed by

Sikkim Power Development Corporation Limited and M/s Athena Project Private Limited under Public Private Partnership mode.

The Chief Minister is a short speech The CM said this project is a new source of revenue for the government of Rs 6 to 7 crore annually and this is a moment for Sikkim for the State Bank also. In the year 2008 the project was stopped due to the ego of the former leader and the project has 51 percent of the state share which is the government's revenue. The project was in loss and it was public property and loss of public money or revenue but we formed our government and decided to revive all the small projects with the thought not to waste the public money or government money. In the lapse year, Sikkim has borne the cost but after its revival, it has added Ra 6 to 7 crore to Government exchequer which is a good thing.
