Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang met with the 2025 batch of Probationary Officers from the Sikkim State Civil Services and Sikkim Finance & Accounts Services at Samman Bhawan on July 5 delivering an inspiring message on public service, ethics and lifelong learning.
The Chief Minister described the officers not merely as trainees, but as the future stewards of Sikkim’s governance. “You are not just trainees, but the very heart and future of our state’s administrative machinery,” Tamang stated, highlighting their vital role in establishing a transparent, efficient, and people-centric system of governance.
He stressed the importance of the foundational years of their career, stating that the integrity and strength of Sikkim’s institutions would be determined by the commitment and values they carry into service. While acknowledging their successful completion of formal training, Tamang reminded them that the process of learning must never cease. “Learning does not stop here; it is a continuous process that must guide your journey in public service,” he said.
The Chief Minister urged the officers to uphold the highest standards of humanity, discipline, and dedication. He emphasized that public service is not just a profession but a moral responsibility. “Carry out your duties with a strong sense of humanity and unwavering dedication,” he said.
