CM Prem Singh Tamang reaffirms vision for ‘Viksit Sikkim’ at government formation day event
In his speech, the Chief Minister expressed happiness over the public’s continued support and extended his heartfelt thanks to the people of Sikkim.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on June 10 addressed the valedictory session of a two-day workshop held under the theme “Viksit Sikkim Se Viksit Bharat @2047.” The event, organised to mark the Government Formation Day of both the NDA government at the Centre and the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) government in the state, saw participation from various officials, employees, and stakeholders.
In his speech, the Chief Minister expressed happiness over the public’s continued support and extended his heartfelt thanks to the people of Sikkim. “I am deeply grateful to the people of our state for trusting us again. Your support gives us strength and keeps us moving forward,” he said. He also appreciated the sincere work and dedication shown by government officials and employees across the state.
The event comes at a special time as Sikkim celebrates 50 years of becoming a full-fledged state of India. On this occasion, CM Tamang highlighted the long-standing support that the state has received from the Central Government over the years. “The help we got during the pandemic, the Teesta floods, landslides, and even during earthquakes, has been extremely important for our recovery and growth,” he stated.
He further spoke about the importance of teamwork in good governance. The Chief Minister reminded government employees of their duty to work with honesty, without any pride or bias, and to carry out orders sincerely. “Our service must always be for the people. We must work together for a better Sikkim,” he said.
Reflecting on the achievements of the SKM government over the last seven years, CM Tamang said that many positive changes have taken place. He credited the combined efforts of government staff and the people of the state for making progress possible. “All our achievements would not have been possible without the hard work of our employees and the support of our people. I thank each one of you,” he added.
The Chief Minister also outlined the broader goal of contributing to a developed India by 2047. “We are committed to building a strong and developed Sikkim. By doing so, we can proudly be a part of India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by the time we celebrate 100 years of independence,” he said.
