Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Friday extended heartfelt greetings to teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, paying rich tributes to their contributions in shaping the future of individuals and society.

Teachers’ Day, celebrated annually on September 5 to mark the birth anniversary of former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, is observed across India as a day to recognize and honor the role of teachers in nation-building. In his message, the Chief Minister lauded teachers across the globe, with a special salute to those in Sikkim, for their dedication and selfless service.

“Teachers are our guiding lights and the foundation of society. In Sikkim, they have been instrumental in nurturing generations with values, knowledge, and resilience, shaping both individuals and the collective progress of our state,” Tamang said. The Chief Minister called upon teachers to continue fostering strong bonds with their students and to encourage curiosity, creativity, and innovation. He urged them to guide the younger generation to become leaders and entrepreneurs who can create opportunities not only for themselves but also for others.

Highlighting the importance of education as a transformative tool, Tamang noted that teachers remain the fountain of knowledge, wisdom, and inspiration. He said their contributions uplift not only individuals but entire communities, making them indispensable in the journey of state and national progress.
