Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang today inaugurated the Curtain Raiser Ceremony of the Kuzu Cultural Festival 2025 at Manan Kendra, officially marking the beginning of a grand celebration to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Sikkim’s Statehood. Organized by the Department of Culture and Heritage, the festival will run from May 1 to May 10, showcasing the cultural richness and diversity of the state.
Addressing the gathering, CM Tamang expressed his happiness to be part of the occasion. “This vibrant festival is a proud reflection of our rich cultural heritage and the unity in diversity that defines Sikkim,” he said. The event will bring together 21 ethnic communities on a common platform to present their traditional music, dance, art, and heritage.
The Kuzu Cultural Festival will feature a wide range of activities, including folk performances, heritage walks, storytelling, theatre, handicrafts exhibitions, and a colorful cultural carnival. It aims to highlight the cultural soul of Sikkim and foster community bonding through shared traditions.
The Chief Minister also welcomed national and international artists who will participate in the festivities, adding to the grandeur and inclusivity of the event. “We are honored to welcome artists from across India and the world. Their presence will add further color and depth to our celebration,” he said.
The theme of the festival, “One Soil, Many Colors,” represents Sikkim’s unity despite its cultural diversity. CM Tamang called upon both residents and visitors to take part in the event. “I warmly invite everyone to join us in celebrating this landmark occasion. Let us come together to experience the spirit of ‘One Soil, Many Colors’ and strengthen our commitment to preserving and promoting our cultural legacy,” he added.
