CM Prem Singh Tamang emphasised on the values, morals, and life lessons on Teacher's day celebration


Gangtok, Sept 5:
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang strongly emphasised on the values, morals, and life lessons during his state level Teachers' Day celebration held at Manan Kendra today wherein teachers were felicitated and with teacher’s awards and commendations. CM said Teachers’ day is not just a day to appreciate the knowledge you impart, but also a day to acknowledge the values, morals, and life lessons. He also shared anecdote of Padmashree Savji Dholakia a Gujarati diamond merchant and proprietor of a Surat-based Rs 6,000 crore company with presence in 71 countries, and how he wean his son from a life of silver-spooned privilege, persuaded his only son to go to Kochi incognito and survive on odd jobs for a month. Dravya Dholakia, 21, doing an MBA in the US and on a holiday in India, arrived in Kochi on June 21 with three pairs of clothes and Rs 7,000 that his father instructed should be used only in an emergency.
He even gave his own example by saying “before 2019 election, how then ruling SDF party had done to me, they used to say I cannot be Panchayat forget Chief Minister but I took that in positive manner and able to dethrone 25 years long government and became Chief Minister that was life lesson so my saying students teachers and students should also focus on this aspect of moral and life lesson”.
The Chief Minister today on the occasion officially announced that he will remain as chief minister for 10 years only that is two terms and after that will adopt school and give his time for school and he also shared his story when he served as Graduate Teachers and how he entered politics.
CM also said that “all the demands placed by the teachers’ association will be thoroughly examined and it will be discussed with the associations before taking any steps. The demands of the teachers includes preparation of seniority list for promotion and the promotion of Primary Teachers aswell.
