CM Prem Singh Tamang congratulates Dr. Chewang Norbu Bhutia on PM Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' mention

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on May 25 congratulated Dr. Chewang Norbu Bhutia for being mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the latest episode of Mann Ki Baat. The recognition came during the NDA meeting where the Prime Minister praised Dr. Bhutia’s work with “Crafted Fibers,” a brand that promotes traditional Sikkimese weaving and sustainable craftsmanship.

Crafted Fibers is known for using eco-friendly materials and for supporting local artisans who keep the traditional weaving techniques alive. Dr. Bhutia, who started this initiative with the aim of preserving indigenous crafts, has received appreciation for blending modern design with age-old traditions. His work has helped create livelihood opportunities for many weavers in rural parts of the state.
