Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) lauded the exceptional talent showcased at the grand finale of the 1st Sikkim Sarathi Idol 2025, held at Manan Kendra, describing the event as a “spectacular celebration of musical excellence and community spirit.” The competition, organised exclusively for the local taxi driver community, culminated with Abin Rai from Yangang being crowned the winner, receiving a cash prize of ₹5 lakh.

The Chief Minister said, “It was a pleasure to witness the spectacular grand finale of the 1st Sikkim Sarathi Idol 2025. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the winner and runner-ups. Your exceptional talent, dedication, and stage presence were truly commendable, and your performances left a lasting impression on all those present.”

The event also saw Anand Gurung and Passang Dawa Tamang being awarded as the 1st and 2nd Runner-Ups, respectively, each earning praise for their musical abilities and strong stage presence.

The Chief Minister also took a moment to commend the efforts of the Central Joint Action Committee of All Local Taxi, Gangtok, for organizing the competition and creating a meaningful opportunity to spotlight hidden talent. “Sincere appreciation goes to the organizing committee for conceptualizing and executing such a meaningful initiative to showcase and celebrate local talent,” he said.

“We look forward to the continued success and growth of the Sikkim Sarathi Idol in the years ahead,” the Chief Minister said.
