Chungthang fire station conducts fire safety demo in Lachen as part of Fire Service Week

As part of the ongoing Fire Service Week, the officials of the Chungthang Fire Station carried out a fire fighting demonstration and fire safety inspection in Lachen on Friday. The event, held on the fifth day of the observance week, aimed to raise awareness about fire safety among the local residents and business owners.

The demonstration took place at Zumsa Ground in Lachen and was witnessed by Pipon Mr. Cho Bandu Lachenpa along with a good number of local residents. Fire officials gave a live display of fire fighting techniques and equipment, showing how to control and extinguish different types of fires. The audience watched attentively as the fire personnel explained the proper use of fire extinguishers and shared basic safety steps to follow during fire emergencies.

In addition to the live drill, the fire officials also conducted a thorough fire safety inspection in and around Lachen bazaar and nearby hotels. They checked for fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and other safety measures, while also offering advice to shopkeepers and hotel staff on how to stay prepared for any fire-related incident.

The event was part of a series of activities being carried out by the fire department across the district to mark Fire Service Week, which is observed every year to promote awareness on fire prevention and to honour the work of fire service personnel.
