Chairman of 16th Finance Commission, Arvind Panagariya arrives in Gangtok for Sikkim visit

Arvind Panagariya, Chairman of the 16th Finance Commission of India, arrived in Gangtok today along with Amita Panagariya. The distinguished visitors are on a visit to Sikkim from January 19 to January 23, 2025.

Accompanying Panagariya are several key members of the Finance Commission, including Ajay Narayan Jha, Annie George Mathew, Dr. Manoj Panda (with his spouse, Madam Puspanjali Panda), Ritvik Pandey (Secretary), KK Mishra (Joint Secretary), Kumar Vivek (PS to Chairman/Joint Director), Davinder Chodha (Joint Director), Abhishek Nandan (Officer on Special Duty), Promila Rajvanshi (PPS to Member), Dr. Bhabesh Hazarika (Assistant Director), and Arushi Gupta (Assistant Director).

Upon arrival at Burtuk Helipad, the delegation was warmly received by senior officials, including VB Pathak, Chief Administrator cum Cabinet Secretary; R Telang, Chief Secretary; Akshay Sachdeva, DGP; CS Rao, Principal Secretary of Tourism and Civil Aviation Department; MCP Pradhan, Secretary cum Controller of the Finance Department; Jeewan Subba, Revenue Secretary of the Finance Department; Tushar Nikhare, DC Gangtok; Rajendra Chhetri, Principal Director cum CEO of STDC; and other officials from the Finance Department, Government of Sikkim.
