CEC Gyanesh Kumar to deliver keynote at global Electoral Integrity meet in Stockholm

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India, Gyanesh Kumar, will deliver the inaugural keynote address at the International IDEA Stockholm Conference on Electoral Integrity, beginning June 10. The high-level event, which runs through June 12, brings together over 100 delegates from 50 countries to deliberate on global electoral challenges.
During his visit to Sweden, the CEC engaged in a warm interaction with the Indian Diaspora, emphasizing the Election Commission of India’s commitment to inclusive participation by Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs). He highlighted key initiatives such as the Online Voter Registration System and the Electronic Transmission of Postal Ballot Management System (ETPBMS), aimed at empowering overseas voters.
The conference, hosted by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) in collaboration with the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will focus on disinformation, electoral security, digital threats, climate risks, and AI in elections.
CEC Kumar will also hold bilateral meetings with election officials from countries including the UK, France, South Africa, and Indonesia. Accompanied by senior ECI officials, his visit underscores India’s leadership in election management and its strong ties with International IDEA in advancing global democratic practices.
