Brotherhood FC Sardung crowned champions of Summer Futsal Tournament in Darap
The six-day event, which ran from July 1 to 6, brought together sports, culture, and youth development under one platform and culminated in a gripping final match between two energetic teams.

The first-ever Summer Futsal Tournament, organised by the Darap Football Academy (DFA), concluded with great enthusiasm and community spirit at the Damber Singh Limboo Memorial GSSS playground. The six-day event, which ran from July 1 to 6, brought together sports, culture, and youth development under one platform and culminated in a gripping final match between two energetic teams.
In a closely contested final, Brotherhood FC Sardung emerged as the champions, defeating Kyongsa Power FC with a narrow 4–3 victory, much to the cheer of spectators and supporters who had gathered in large numbers.
The tournament, aimed at promoting sportsmanship and healthy living, received significant backing from Hon’ble Minister and Yangthang Area MLA, Shri Bhim Hang Limboo, whose support was crucial to the success of the event. The organisers also used the platform to steer youth away from mobile addiction and substance abuse by encouraging their involvement in physical activities and cultural expression.
The closing ceremony was graced by Former Chairman Shri Basant Tamang as the Chief Guest. The event also saw the presence of other distinguished guests, including ASP Sonam Wangdi Bhutia, AGM-cum-DCO (SBS) Ajit Gurung, Contractor Gyalpo Lepcha, Principal of Khechuperi Senior Secondary School LM Limboo, and Sikkim’s very own Marathon Man, Shri Amar Subba, who are all known for their contributions to the community.
