Miss Grihasila Karki, a Class 11 student of Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Gwalior, has adopted a Common Leopard named ‘Chimi’ under the ‘My Child From Wild’ initiative of the Himalayan Zoological Park. Miss Karki, described by many as a bookaholic and a passionate lover of literature, is known for frequenting bookshops and crafting intricate needlework designs in her free time. But beyond her hobbies, it is her deep sense of responsibility and affection for nature that shines through this act of kindness.
The eldest daughter of two respected civil servants—Dr. A.B. Karki, IAS, Secretary of the Printing & Stationary Department, and Mrs. Srijana Chettri, Joint Secretary of the Forest Department, Grihasila draws strength from her parents' steadfast support. She says it is their belief in her potential, even during moments of self-doubt, that drives her forward and inspires her to give back.
