Bollywood buzz in Sikkim; Anurag Basu, Kartik Aaryan begin shooting for Aashiqui 3 in state

Renowned Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Basu has arrived in Sikkim for a week-long film shoot, with popular actor Kartik Aaryan set to join him. The scenic beauty of Gangtok and other locations in the state will serve as the backdrop for the upcoming movie Aashiqui 3.

Speaking about the project, Basu said, "We are starting the shoot this evening and will continue for the next one week. Various locations across Sikkim, including the iconic MG Market, will feature in the film. We will be shooting there tomorrow." While keeping some details confidential, he confirmed that the team would be filming extensively in different parts of the state.

When asked about his frequent inclination towards the Himalayas and foothills in his films, Basu said, "I think it's the Bengali in me that keeps bringing me back to Gangtok and Sikkim. It’s nostalgia, my childhood memories, and they naturally weave into my movies and storytelling."

Adding to the excitement, Kartik Aaryan, the film’s lead actor, is also part of the schedule. "He is the main lead, and I cannot shoot with anybody else. Kartik is already here," Basu said.
