BJP Sikkim celebrated International Labour Day 2025 with a special programme at Jorethang Bazar, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of workers across the state. The event, led by BJP Mahila Morcha under the party’s ongoing Sewa aur Sampark Abhiyan, saw active public participation and highlighted key central government schemes for workers and the underprivileged.
On the second day of its door-to-door campaign, the Mahila Morcha enrolled beneficiaries in several welfare schemes, including Ayushman Bharat, which offers ₹5 lakh annual health coverage per family; E-Shram Card, which helps unorganised workers access social security benefits; and Ujjwala Yojana, which provides free LPG connections to BPL families.
Local residents and workers responded positively, with many expressing gratitude for the outreach and assistance in accessing these schemes. The campaign aims to ensure that no eligible person is left behind in availing government benefits.
State BJP President DR Thapa praised the Mahila Morcha team for their dedicated efforts. Key party leaders present included Smt. Srijana Chettri, Smt. Tara Subba, Shri Passang Gyali Sherpa, Shri Niren Bhandari, Shri Pempo Dorjee Lepcha, Ranu Chettri, Yap Tshering Bhutia, and others.
BJP Sikkim reiterated its resolve to uphold the principle of Antyodaya — reaching the last person in line — and ensuring inclusive growth in every corner of the state.
