The BJP Sikkim Mahila Morcha expressed deep outrage and condemnation over the shocking case of sexual abuse involving a Class 7 girl student in Gyalshing district. The incident, in which a school teacher and two accomplices have been accused, has sparked widespread anger and dismay across the state.
Calling the assault a “betrayal of trust and attack on the core of educational values,” the Mahila Morcha said the crime represents a serious erosion of societal principles and reflects the urgent need for collective responsibility in ensuring the safety of women and children.
“This is not just a legal offense—it is a moral collapse that shakes our society to its core,” said Srijana Chettri, General Secretary of the BJP Sikkim Mahila Morcha. “It is a direct affront to the dignity, freedom, and humanity of every woman. We must no longer remain silent. The pain of this one child is the pain of all women.”
The organization stressed that violence against women and children cannot be tolerated under any circumstances and demanded immediate and uncompromising legal action against the accused. “There must be no leniency, no delay, and no compromise in ensuring justice for the victim. The law must be swift, and the punishment must be strict,” Chettri stated.
The Mahila Morcha also urged the public, particularly parents, educators, and policymakers, to treat this case as a wake-up call. The press release emphasized that institutions like schools must not only be centers of learning but also safe spaces where trust, respect, and protection are guaranteed for every child.
“This horrifying case must serve as a rallying cry for society—to rise up, speak out, and build an unyielding wall against violence and discrimination,” the statement added.
