The 46th Foundation Day of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was celebrated with great pride and enthusiasm in Siliguri today. Member of Parliament from Darjeeling and BJP National Spokesperson Raju Bista joined party leaders, MLAs and karyakartas to mark the special occasion.

The event, held in Siliguri, saw the participation of several prominent BJP leaders including BJP West Bengal Vice President Ratin Bose, Siliguri BJP President Arun Mandal, Siliguri MLA Dr. Shankar Ghosh, and Matigara-Naxalbari MLA Anandamay Barman. Party workers from across the district also joined the celebrations.

Speaking at the event, Raju Bista reminded everyone about the journey of the BJP since its formation on April 6, 1980. He said that BJP was born with the goal of putting the nation first and working with honesty and commitment to build a strong India. “BJP is not just a political party; it is a mission. Service to Mother India is at the heart of our work,” he said.

Bista paid tribute to the leaders whose vision and sacrifices laid the foundation of the party. He recalled Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s contribution for the idea of “One Country, One Constitution,” and also praised the teachings of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, which he said still guide the party’s philosophy.

He also acknowledged the role of senior leaders like Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani in strengthening the party. “Their leadership built the strong base on which BJP stands today,” he said. Bista further said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party has moved from strength to strength, earning respect at both the national and international level.

“As we celebrate this Foundation Day, let us renew our promise to work for a Self-Reliant and Developed India by 2047. We must carry the BJP’s message to every citizen and win their trust,” Bista urged the party workers.
