Awareness program on MSME schemes empowers local entrepreneurs at Samdong Senior Secondary School

Officials and resource persons highlighted the wide range of State and Central Government schemes available for entrepreneurs.

An awareness program on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) schemes under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) initiative was held at Samdong Senior Secondary School, drawing active participation from local entrepreneurs, students, and community members. The event was organized by the Department of Commerce and Industries, Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with the Sikkim Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Cell (SEED CELL).

The program was graced by Hon’ble MLA of Tumin Lingi Constituency and Chairman of STCS, Shri Samdup Tshering Bhutia, who was the chief guest. He was joined by Gangtok District Adhyaksha, Shri Balaram Adhikari, and a host of senior officials including OSD to MLA Shri Keshav Nepal, OSD Commerce and Industry Shri Deepan Subba, OSD to Department of Ayush Smt. Deena Gautam, BDO Rakdong Tintek Shri Pushkar Khatiwara, Zilla Member of Patuk Singbel Shri Biswadeep Sapkota, Panchayat members of Samdong Kambal GPU, and the Principal of Samdong Senior Secondary School.

Officials and resource persons highlighted the wide range of State and Central Government schemes available for entrepreneurs. They placed special focus on financial support, loan facilities, and subsidies under the RAMP program, urging youth and aspiring entrepreneurs to take advantage of government initiatives designed to boost business opportunities.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Samdup Tshering Bhutia underlined the importance of entrepreneurship in driving rural development and generating employment. He emphasized that empowering local entrepreneurs through awareness and access to schemes would not only strengthen self-reliance but also contribute significantly to Sikkim’s economy.
