APS Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha meets DC Tushar Nikhare to discuss key policies and campaigns

Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha, Additional Political Secretary (APS) to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), today met with Shri Tushar Nikhare, District Collector of Gangtok, to discuss several important initiatives and policies for the district. The meeting took place at the District Collectorate and marked a collaborative effort to strengthen ongoing development and public welfare programs.
The discussions focused mainly on some of the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s flagship campaigns, including the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan aimed at creating a drug-free society, and the Connect to Earth campaign, which promotes environmental awareness and sustainability. Both leaders also talked about other key environmental and socio-economic policies designed to improve the well-being and quality of life of citizens across Gangtok District.
During the meeting, Shri Lepcha congratulated Shri Tushar Nikhare on receiving the prestigious CIPS Innovation Award for Public Service at a ceremony held recently in Srinagar. The award recognizes innovative governance practices and initiatives that put citizens at the center of public service. “It is heartening to see your efforts in making governance more effective and citizen-friendly being recognized at a national level,” said Shri Lepcha.
Shri Nikhare, welcoming Shri Lepcha on his second tenure as APS to the Chief Minister, assured his full support and cooperation in implementing people-centric policies and developmental programs across Gangtok District. He emphasized the importance of working together to ensure that government initiatives reach every corner of the district effectively.
