Abhishek Banerjee teases swag and action in Mirzapur: The Film

Actor Abhishek Banerjee, renowned for his intense portrayal of the Compounder in Mirzapur Season 1, is set to make a return in Mirzapur: The Film. In an exclusive chat with India Today Digital, Banerjee hinted at a high-octane cinematic experience filled with swag and action.

The upcoming film, backed by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, revisits the gritty world of Mirzapur, bringing back fan-favourite characters, including those who met their end in the series. While Banerjee’s Compounder faced an early demise in the first season, the actor suggested the film might explore events predating the series.

“You can expect unwavering loyalty and, of course, bloodshed where Compounder is involved. Mirzapur has always been about unapologetic swag and boundless love, and I believe that essence will shine through in the film,” Banerjee shared.

Although details about the storyline remain under wraps, Banerjee expressed gratitude for the show's dedicated fanbase, saying, “No matter how much work I’ve done, people still recognize me as Compounder. It’s amazing to see their unwavering love.”
