3,841 students graduate from Mid-Western University at third convocation ceremony in Nepal

A total of 3,841 students graduated from Mid-Western University (MWU) during its third convocation ceremony held on Friday at the university’s central office in Birendranagar, Karnali Province, Nepal. The event was chaired by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the Chancellor of the university.
The convocation was a significant occasion for the university, which started its academic programs 12 years ago. Students from different faculties, including Science and Technology, Management, Engineering, Law, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences received their degrees.
Among the graduates, 2,189 students completed their undergraduate studies, while 1,663 students successfully finished their postgraduate programs. Additionally, 19 students earned their Doctorate in Management. The university also recognized outstanding students by presenting them with special awards for academic excellence.
The event was attended by many dignitaries, including high-ranking officials, faculty members, students, and their families. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, in his address as Chancellor, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to contribute to the nation’s progress.
In his speech, the Prime Minister said, "Education is the key to development. Our youth must use their knowledge and skills to build a stronger and more prosperous Nepal. The government will continue to support higher education to ensure quality learning opportunities for all."
The Chief Guest of the ceremony also shared words of encouragement stating the role of universities in shaping future leaders.
The convocation ceremony was an important milestone for Mid-Western University, which has been striving to provide quality education in Nepal’s Karnali Province. Since its establishment, the university has focused on academic excellence, research and innovation.
The event also included a photo session, where graduates and faculty members captured memorable moments.
