To provide better healthcare to the underprivileged, 35 patients from Sikkim were sent to Siliguri for specialized treatment under the Garib Jan Kalyan Prakoshth on Wednesday. The patients, suffering from kidney stones and gallbladder stones, will receive medical care at North Bengal Medica, Kins, and Neotia Hospitals, ensuring they get access to high-standard treatment.

The initiative, which is part of the ongoing efforts to support low-income groups, began today with 7 kidney stone patients and 35 gallbladder stone patients being transferred to the hospitals. This project was carried out with the coordination of the Garib Jan Kalyan Prakoshth and under the guidance of Sikkim’s Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang.

The Chief Minister’s compassionate leadership and forward-thinking vision have been pivotal in ensuring healthcare access to the state's poor and marginalized communities. His initiative aims to provide much-needed medical care, especially for conditions like kidney and gallbladder stones, which often go untreated in underprivileged areas.

The Prakoshth has been instrumental in facilitating medical treatment for numerous patients in the past and continues to play a crucial role in the welfare of Sikkim’s citizens. The patients sent today are expected to benefit from the specialized treatment available in Siliguri, making a positive impact on their health and quality of life.
